Research & Development

While VEDX Solutions connects institutions to immersive technologies by equipping them with the educational software through strategic partnerships, we also have active, in-house development, including participants in our internship programs, and partnerships with 3rd party studios and indie developers.

These VR projects are experiments in custom educational content, which could be used in education and training. Institutions who are interested in these projects can contact us to discuss developing full versions of the app, or they might inspire other educational apps that we could develop for you.

If you like the concepts behind these apps or the application of them, please leave us a comment. You may also leave us Patreon support, so we know there is market demand for these projects. We believe research and development efforts like these lead us to imagine the educational possibilities, which we will turn into realities.

Language City

Description:

As a company with a background in international educational recruitment, we have seen firsthand that a key component of education abroad is mastering the local language, especially English, which is the most common language of instruction. We are also aware that real language learning doesn’t come from a textbook but from immersion. For this reason, we took the first step in developing an app to bring that sense of immersion to language learners by giving them a full city of people with whom to interact using the target language. The city is designed for asynchronous learning, so people can study on their own by visiting the city’s inhabitants. It is also a multiplayer experience, so instructors can hold class, stage language-based activities in the theater, and relax with a few of the outdoor games.

VEDX 360 Workforce

Description:

Choosing the right career is one of the most consequential decisions a person makes, and VEDX Solutions is helping students make the most informed decision possible by bringing them to the work site through 360 video to help them learn what the job is really all about. In addition to our other apps which have a library of 360 workforce videos, this app expands on the experience by offering educational infographics and interactable equipment related to the featured jobs. This app will equip the future workforce with the information they need for the most satisfying career for them. The types of jobs and rooms to accommodate those jobs will be curated to the needs of the institution.

Ohm’s Law

Description:

VR is well suited to experiences that require a limited amount of space. For this reason, class workshops are an ideal environment for virtual reality, and Ohm’s Law was developed as a workshop experience specifically for electrical engineering students. This is a multiplayer experience, so classes and instructors can join the app together and practice the principles of electrical engineering, using one our custom-made equipment. This experience was developed in under a week, showing the rapidity with which VEDX can prototype its ideas. A fully developed app would include school-oriented environments and a more complete electrical engineering curriculum.

Hydroponics Farming

Description:

With VR, educational experiences don’t need to be limited to the classroom. Hydroponics Farming takes visitors on an exciting tour of a Hydroponics educational facility and to a hydroponics greenhouse where people can go through the steps of hydroponic farming, growing their own rosemary plants. Agricultural education in VR is promising because we can instruct people more cheaply and in a much shorter time by simulating the farming environment. This type of project may also be expanded to include other types of plants and forms of alternative farming.
