Nursing

This product was developed by Xennial in collaboration with the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The program has 6 modules:

Anesthesia Depth Equipment
• Equipment set up: Position the forehead strip and activate the correct vaporizer level
• Monitoring objective: Read the main monitor to make sure the SEV levels are correct

Fluid Status Equipment
• Equipment set up and prepare fluid warming unit
• Monitoring: Identify the Post Pressure Variation or PPV of the patient on main anesthesia monitor

Normothermia Equipment
• Set up the Baer hugger unit, forced air blanket (upper or lower body or underbody)
• Monitoring: temperature probe (esophageal or skin) has reached the correct temperature on Baer unit

Intubation/Ventilation
• ETT (endotracheal tube) Intubation and extraction with mechanical and machine lung ventilation set up
• Monitoring of capnography for etCO2 pre, during and post patient procedure, including troubleshooting scenarios

Nerve Block
• Set up of and initial administration and monitoring of nerve blocking agents
• Positioning electrodes and monitoring nerve blocking effectiveness on three locations – adductor Pollicis (thumb), Flexor hallucis (foot) and Orbicularis Oculi (face) using TOF and tetanus stimuli

One Lung Ventilation
• Practice isolating and ventilating one lung for surgical procedures
• Execute double lumen tube placement technique
• Implement selective clamping
